Located at the city center of San Miguel de Allende, Clandestino Hotel is an exclusive hotel, filled with luxurious amenities and charming spaces.
The Clandestino Hotel project started as a refurbishment of an old historic house. The original layout of the house dates back to the 19th century.
With the constant flow of travellers, Clandestino Hotel provides a cosy space, right in the centre of the city, with one of the best views of the main church (Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel) from it rooftop terraced bar. In addition to that, Clandestino Hotel offers a small boutique type hotel, with just 8 bedrooms, each of them with a unique style and design, with just the right amount of San Miguel's vernacular style and contemporary interior design.
The idea behind Clandestino hotel comes from it´'s name, “Clandestino” which literally translates to clandestine. The idea was to create a secluded hotel, exploiting the features of the original old historic house, highlighting the idea that the house dates back to the 19th century, when the conspiracy for the Mexican Independence started plotting. The whole branding experience, including the logo, was developed around this idea. If you pay close attention to the logotype, it resembles a symbol written in some kind of secret code, matching this idea of secrecy.
In addition to the architecture and renovation project the whole branding experience for the hotel, was also created.
