Our client was a family of four looking to enlarge their home with a dormer loft conversion. Specifically, the parents were keen to have their own private level, complete with a master bedroom and bathroom.
BEFORE
In the beginning, the property was a two-storey, mid-terraced house with three bedrooms and one small bathroom. The family was unsure how to get planning permission, and design and build a dormer loft conversion that’s bright, airy and welcoming.
AFTER
Once we were finished, the property increased in size dramatically, with an entirely new level made possible by an L-shaped dormer loft conversion. The new third storey provided plenty of space for a private master bedroom, master bathroom and multi-functional office. This entire floor was designed specifically for the parents, who desired more privacy in their day to day lives.
With successful layout arrangement and beautiful design, your loft could be transformed into a comfortable living space to capture space and light!
Renovation of this Victorian property by adding an L-shaped dormer loft conversion. The new loft conversion layout incorporates an entirely new third level with a master bedroom, master bathroom and multi-functional office space.
Because there has been an addition to the original house at the rear, known as two storey outrigger, we have advised our client to add an L-shaped dormer conversion, one dormer to be built on the rear roof and the other on the main roof, giving it the unmistakable, instantly recognisable L-shape. This type of build is a great way to get some more space out of a property like this especially if you own a mid-terrace property.
Loft conversions have to be treated as more than just a box on a roof. They are to be the successful addition to your property that you want them to be.
Dormer loft conversions are a sensible and often inexpensive way to add that extra space along with value to your property.

A compelling loft conversion design to capture space and light, and the beautiful shades of neutral colours.
The result is fascinating - showing that loft conversions don’t have to be pokey, dark and lacking in style.
This additional space allowed our clients to transform their original bedroom into a play area for the kids, and with the added master bathroom, the family of four would no longer have to share one small restroom.
Lucky for you, we documented each step that we took to renovate this Victorian property by adding an L-shaped dormer. Use this proven process to produce the same results for your loft conversion project.
