Some kitchens are subtle and understated and some hit you with their personality, maybe it’s like owners and their dogs, but instead of looking like your kitchen your kitchen takes on your personality. The family that lived here must have been super fun and super stylish because this Shaker kitchen is so vibrant and happy.
Printer's Black cupboards, vintage pieces, Aged Brass Hanging Rails, Boho Cup Handles, a copper sink and San Simone quartzite worktops, all these ideas were taken from our Millhouse Printer's Black kitchen. We love to see our ideas and our showrooms suddenly turning up in peoples' homes, it’s what we do, we have an idea, we design a room and then hope everyone will love it and take some, or all, of the parts of it and create their own unique deVOL Kitchen. As we design, make and introduce new accessories such as stools and brassware into our kitchens, it makes the kitchens become special and original. When we want a look we can make it happen even if it doesn’t yet exist, like the Boho Cup Handles, they add such a fun and unusual look to your Shaker kitchen. The greenery in this kitchen is such a statement and because the windows are up high it gives the feeling of a jungle-like underground hideaway, simply stunning. This house was built from beautiful soft pale Cotswold stone, the garden was so, so pretty and the rest of the house was like stepping into a very glamorous glossy magazine, just perfect in every way. We love this kitchen because it showcases so many parts of deVOL that you can’t get anywhere else, but we always remember that it’s the customers that make the kitchen into a home and a place worthy of photographing because of their personal tastes and style
The decision to go for a simple white shelf and a Shaker wall cupboard was a clever choice, it keeps the space feeling open but also lets the owners keep their special glassware safely behind glazed doors. The inclusion of potted plants are a lovely extra and keep this space feeling so fresh and light.
The cupboards have been painted in our dramatic shade, Printer's Black. Everybody loved our dark Pantry Blue when we launched it and we decided we wanted to offer our customers an even bolder option, this deep black is the perfect choice. Paired with an Arabescato marble worktop and our handmade Boho cup handles, this kitchen is fun and different and a pleasure to spend time in.
A lovely row of hanging copper pans and a few kitchen utensils, simple styling that adds to the glamorous feel of the room.
Black cupboards, a bold Arabescato marble worktop and a chunky black AGA - this Shaker kitchen is stylish and different and the perfect space for this family to cook, eat, entertain and relax in.
What a treat to see our handcrafted Boho cup handles in this Shaker Kitchen. Their kooky and curvy shape is charming and a little more fancy, and paired with these sleek black cupboards, we might just have a new favourite combination. Our talented jeweller Steph has created seven stunning living finishes, ranging from a classic aged brass to these rustic aged verdigris bronze handles. Verdigris is a natural pigment or patina that forms on the surface of the metal, if you look closely you can see hints of beautiful blues and greens. You'll also notice the cool pitted texture, this is achieved by using the traditional sand casting technique.
The cupboard to the left is actually an integrated fridge freezer. We love to keep appliances integrated where possible, it keeps everything looking simple and uncluttered and creates a space that feels more like an entire living area than just a room to do chores.
This lovely little corner wall cupboard is from our Real Shaker range, it's the perfect spot to keep the customers' lovely glassware collection - still on display but safely behind glazed doors. The whole project was designed using our Real Shaker collection, the base cupboard doors and fascias are made using tulipwood and maple and the carcases are made from a high grade birch ply - a very durable and water resistant material, perfect in a kitchen.
You can just about spot the glimmer of the integrated copper sink, a stunning detail and a feature we love to include in our kitchen designs. This sink has been paired with our Mayan taps, made in collaboration with Perrin and Rowe, in the exclusive finish to deVOL, aged brass. A perfect pairing in this super stylish Shaker kitchen.
Greenery always adds a sense of freshness and vitality to a kitchen, whether that is with green painted cupboards, green accessories or even real life greenery like these potted plants. Lined up on a simple white shelf, they're a lovely finishing touch.
An L-shaped run of base cabinets and just one Shaker wall cupboard provided all the storage this family needed, so the simple white shelf could be kept free from kitcheny things and stacked with a very cool collection of pots and plants and succulents. We always love to see a little greenery in a kitchen, and paired with the bold black cupboards and hints of warm copper and brass, it looks more beautiful than ever.
Sunshine flooded through the huge skylight and the windows around the perimeter of this very cool kitchen. With so much wonderful natural light, the owners were able to experiment with darker, more dramatic colours. These Shaker cupboards are painted in our own 'Printer's Black' shade - a bold choice but combined with the simple layout, light worktops, white walls and lots of gorgeous greenery, this glamorous kitchen was light and airy and a pleasure to be in.
Our Arabescato marble is sourced from Brazil, it has dark bold veining and there is even a slight shimmer to it - it really is a wonderful material. If you're hoping to create a kitchen that feels dramatic, luxurious and utterly beautiful, this worktop could be perfect. The owners of this project and our wonderful designers decided it would be the ideal choice for this stylish kitchen and even designed a tall upstand behind to continue the bold theme.
This kitchen mixes our Bella Brass catches with our handmade bespoke Boho cup handles, a lovely combination that keeps the whole space feeling really interesting and on-trend. People are often worried about mixing styles and looks but if done carefully and with plenty of thought, it can create a really special and personal space.
