As one can imagine, it can only be fun working for a company like Google. Back in 2014 we were privileged enough to be asked by them to create a functional, fun and inspiring pop-up office for them. We went crazy with colour and various areas where invited guests attending the functions could mingle, learn and brainstorm. One of our favourite areas were definitely the “boma” inspired brainstorming area – a space defined by large hexagonal ottomans and silhouette timber trees in Google-colours. Most pieces for the space were custom made by local companies for the events and we commissioned artist, Ricky Lee Gordon, to conceptualize and paint a backdrop for the custom reception desk.
The Red Room was a creative think tank - the idea was to create a space that was completely red with no distractions to create a space where one can think and come up with creative problem solving ideas.
