The project includes the rehabilitation and expansion of a farm house in Pico de Regalados. The building had been altered in the 1970s in an unpromising manner. Thus, much of this intervention was removed, giving back to the old building its initial appearance. The enlargement carried out in the house develops on a body in granite, in ruin, used in the past like cuts of animals and warehouse. This extension allows to provide the house with the number of rooms adapted to the needs of the family. For this expansion, an apparent iron structure supported on the old building and in new iron pillars and others in granite was chosen. This option defined the formal language of enlargement and other interventions on facades. The voids of this structure are filled by panels of wood ’shirt and skirt’ and glazed. The interior of the old building has been redesigned, adapting it to the current standards of comfort, visual, thermal and acoustic. In this process, the old kitchen, its fireplace with smoke and the oven were revalued. In all the interventions on the facade the visual domain was privileged over the farm from the interior of the building.
