The primary organizing theme for the new hospital is the development of a linear public atrium forms a spine traversing most of the length of the complex from a parking structure at the northern end of the site to an open end to the south.
The open end at the south is placed strategically to allow both the spine and key hospital elements to grow to the south, where open land has been maintained.
The hospital straddles the spine with patient bed towers on the east, the sea side of the spine, and the diagnostic and the treatment to the west.
The theme of simple way finding and intuitive organization are deeply rooted in all of the primary hospital elements, from the main entrance all outpatient and inpatient services will be directly accessible from the linear atrium.
Atrium Lighting :
The specific design for the atrium allowed the interpretation of the natural daylight for the hospital .
