Mohlolo Landscape Architects were appointed as Landscape Architects to design and manage the Landscaping contract for the new 200 bed hospital in Thabazimbi. The Landscape design had to respond to the arid climate of the area as well as the need to reduce maintenance and create a pleasant environment for patient recovery. This was admirably achieved, representing an example of what can be achieved with landscaping at a reasonable cost (R2,875 million).
Visually appealing landscaping is created using hard-landscaping materials of different colours, textures and sizes.
Focus can be directed to the architecture of the building by creating dramatic shapes with the planting beds and paths. Focal pots compliment the building's design.
