Timber Frame House Extension, Boston, Lincs

This timber framed extension has totally transformed the ground floor living accommodation by moving the kitchen and opening it up into the extension to create a massive open plan kitchen dining sitting area with views down the garden. The vaulted ceiling with roof lights adding to the feeling of space. A new shower room and utility and pantry are created off to the side under a flat roof.

The extension replaced a cold and badly planned 4 inch brick kitchen/pantry/wc/utility and the new timber framed structure has been insulated to exceed building regulations requirements with 120mm rigid insulation between the 140mm timber frame plus thermal plasterboard to the inside, cube 6 thermal block floor and rigid insulation between and below rafters and above the flat roof.

Building with timber frame means a much faster build time with the extension weather tight in days. Your extension can be insulated to a much higher standard meaning a snug, warm, draught-free home that costs less to heat.
