Situated in the grounds of an Old Hall, Garden Cottage consists of a former stable block and period house. The existing property was in a poor state or repair suffering from damp and a cellular layout. The proposals looked to open up the ceiling of the original stable block to reveal the vaulted proportions of the space. The bi folding doors open up the living space to the fields and landscape beyond. The property’s carbon footprint was dramatically improved as the result of heavily insulating the building and installing a MVHR system.
