NEW SIMON DETAIL 82 COLLECTION
All the switch details have been re-examined in the DETAIL 82 collection with the aim of making it a part both of the architecture and of people’s lives.
At Simon, all the factors that have created excellence in nearly 100 years of manufacturing electrical equipment have been taken into account and reviewed.
The switch is first and foremost a functional item, but its aesthetic role as a decorative complement is absolute in any environment. So, conditioned by its function, shapes, design, shades and finishes were studied, aware of the fact that the details are put there to change our perception of the personality of a space.
Everything has been done deliberately, even the base which protrudes from the frame. Its small-radius rounded edge generates a lustre that makes it special.
First we thought about the surface and its feel. The curve was considered to be the best shape for the contact surface, as being more agreeable and ergonomic than a flat surface. That’s why we made it small, to give people a sense of touch control.
The collection’s most characteristic feature, though, is its base with a concave angle with which the part appears to float over the wall, projecting a light shadow. The switch isn’t hidden away, rather it reaches out to the user with a new aesthetic purpose: it works whether you want to imitate the setting or you want to give a specific stylistic value.
