Plodder Lane was a project that extensively extended and altered an existing house in the greenbelt near Bolton. In order to gain planning, in this sensitive location, the work was done in the same arts and crafts style as the original house. The result is large comfortable family home that sits comfortably with its neighbours. Throughout the process we worked closely with the client to deliver a home that met their needs and aspirations. As with many of our clients they were closely involved in refining the plan and making choices about the appearance of the building. Our design deliberately created unique spaces that form a home full of character. The design centres around an oak staircase and double height hallway. The low eaves and steeply pitched roofs gives the opportunity for Juliet balconies and dormer windows that add interest to the bedrooms on the first floor.
