Project was achieved within the timeframe we was given. We chose our preferred door. Dean came out to measure and following his visit felt reassured that we’d made the right choice. The installation team of Alfie and John were first class and we are thrilled with the door. All round first class service and product.
Not cheap and pitched as a top of the range product we bought 6 sash windows and an external door for an old cottage in a conservation area I. Hertfordshire. Throughout Barnsbury Joinery provided a clear, responsive and professional service, they managed our expectations and the team doing the installation were top notch. Time will only tell regarding the quality but from the experience to date I have high hopes and no problems recommending Barnsbury Joinery
Love my new front door and sash windows, especially the bespoke stained glass in the door which was made to match the original stained glass in the other windows. The house immediately feels so much warmer and cosier. We have already had compliments from neighbours.
Barnsbury Joinery made the process really easy, and the workmen were incredibly efficient and hard working. We did consider replacing the windows with uPVC and we're so pleased we didn't. The Georgian hardwood replacements keep the character of the property and are excellent quality. We went for double glazing too, which has made the house a lot quieter with the property being on a busy road.
I had 4 slimline double glazed sash windows installed by Barnsbury Joinery over 2 visits - October and November 2021. From the initial canvassing call by a young gentleman, the quote by Dean, surveyor and fitters, all were highly professional. The work was to completed to a high standard, all staff punctual and clean. Can't recommend these highly enough.
Spent an entire year (!) trying to carry on a simple conversation about shutter quotes and get a price and given the tricky climate, get a start date booked in however far away. I was begging to pay a deposit and just have it in the diary. They'd vanish constantly for months at a time unreachable. I know its a crazy climate but eventually I complained and said I couldn't have been nicer but the unanswered messages or people saying they'd get back to me was beyond farcical. They apologized and explained they were understaff, we started the back and forth chat again, eventually I got the quote I had asked for almost a year later but it was the wrong one and then the line went dead again. So unprofessional and infuriating. I gave them every chance. However bad things are at work, communication is key. A really frustrating waste of a LOT of time.
Tony (working for Dean) installed a large shelving unit for books across an entire wall of the study, and a separate wardrobe in the bedroom. He was very helpful, accommodating to our annoying changes, and did great work. we have used Barnsbury Joinery again after as we were very pleased with the work
Dean and his team were efficient, polite and restored our original sash windows that now look like new. I can thoroughly recommend them to anyone looking to restore or repair old sash windows. We now have warm rooms with drafts gone and sash windows looking brand new.

I hired the team at Barnsbury Joinery to build and install a pair of victorian shutters. I am very happy with the workmanship. The quality and finish of the shutters is fantastic. Would recommend for those looking for high quality, period shutters.

Thank you very much to Jon and team for our lovely new windows at both ground floor and first level to the front of our terraced house. Having our single glazed windows with horizontal slats at the top replaced with double glazed sash windows has transformed the appearance of our living room and main bedroom both inside and out. They look beautiful and as we had hoped, the bay window on the ground floor is no longer the chilly space it was but is warm and inviting - similarly our main bedroom now. And in addition what we had not anticipated is the added benefit of how quiet it is - the sound of passing cars has diminished significantly. Peace, warmth and attractive surroundings - what more can one ask for. On the top floor, the curved top to the sash windows restores our windows to a shape that fits with the period of the building. So we are very happy customers and can strongly recommend Barnsbury Joinery Co. Islington. Everyone involved in the job was easy to talk to and responsive to any questions and concerns we had at any stage.
I cannot recommend this local team highly enough. If you want work done in the Barnsbury conservation area then this is where to go. John's years of experience working on Islington houses and obvious respect for them mean quality workmanship.. Kind and helpful too in explaining the ins and outs of restoring and renewing very large Victorian sash windows!
