João Bicho and Joana Carneiro, are Landscape Architects, graduates of the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, in Vila Real.
In 2011, after working together for several years, they formally established the JBJC - arquitectura paisagista, Lda. company. Many projects have been developed since 2004, covering the most diverse themes and scales. The scope of their interventions includes the small private garden, planning agricultural holdings, public areas, recovery of sensitive and abandoned areas, hotels and tourist developments. They also provide services such as regional planning and environmental impact studies, supervision of Landscape Architecture works, and surveys of vegetation and arboriculture.
Today they rely on the collaboration of various landscape architects and other professionals, specialised technicians, who support them in the search for the best solutions in developing the various phases of the project. Each intervention is designed according to the specific client needs, and may range from simple studies to carrying out a detailed project.
Their work is based on the exploit of the design, using technical aspects that serve to enrich the user experience. By bringing together traditional and contemporary construction techniques, they seek to ensure sustainable and low cost responses that are suitable and individualised for each client or user.
Recently, they put together a skilled work group that will be in charge of constructing the spaces planned. They have also done occasional work in producing unique plants that make the difference in their gardens.
