Contemporary rear and side extensions were added to the ground floor of this detached 1930s house, creating a dynamic sequence of inter-linked spaces internally and opening it up to the garden via a 5m-long set of full-height sliding glass doors.
The roof was reconstructed and extended to provide 2 additional bedrooms and a bathroom, making 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in all.
The extensions increased the living area by over 50% from 180 to 280 square metres.
New dormers and new roof elements are clad in pre-weathered zinc, while double-glazed, thermally efficient aluminium windows have replaced the draughty original timber casements.
