An apartment in the very center of Kiev from Yuri Zimenko is both a classic and its rethinking, at the same time playing in contrasts and working with the smallest details and nuances. The result is a space that is filled with textures, drawings, shades and intricate objects, which you want to peer at again and again. Having raised her children, the customer decided to “live for herself,” therefore the main request for designers was comfort in the house and a relaxed atmosphere. The style of American classics was chosen together with the customer. Another sympathy of the client turned out to be complex lush patterns—“cucumbers”, which became one of the main motives of the entire project. I would like to call the living room “red”, while this color is openly not present anywhere in it. The upholstery of the chair is rather burgundy, the wallpaper on the wall with a complex floral ornament is red-brown, like the rusty puzzle table, which is the author's design work of Yuri Zimenko's studio. Curtains in an English cage let warm light into the room and create a somewhat solemn and bourgeois atmosphere. The ocher-brown gamma is sustained in other rooms. Even the piercing blue accents in the bedroom do not violate the overall harmony. Special mention deserves the kitchen, whose facades are made of wood with a rich texture. The kitchen is complemented by decorative panels in the dining area and bathroom. These elements are also made according to the design and sketches of the studio, like interior doors, cabinets in bathrooms, built-in wardrobes, a table in the living room, and much more. For the project, only American furniture was used, bringing the luxury and sophistication of art deco to the interiors. Another interesting find is the abundance of crystal—its luster complements textured and matte surfaces.
