CONTEMPORARY SHOW GARDEN FOR LUXURY FURNITURE COMPANY
Aralia Landscape Architects have secured a ‘5 Star Award’ for their client Gaze Burvill @ the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 with their stunning, contemporary Trade Show Garden. It is the first time that Aralia have designed for Gaze Burvill, but the two companies have collaborated big style, and the net result is a fabulous Trade Show Garden that will give the other Show Gardens on main avenue a run for their money! Gaze Burvill approached Aralia because of their best-in-class landscape designs, and felt that Aralia would deliver a stunning contemporary back drop for their beautifully crafted & sustainable outdoor furniture. Aralia were truly inspired by the brief, and worked hard to innovate and come up with ideas and concepts which would show the Gaze Burvill furniture in a different light. With a nod to the ancient Japanese art of Shou Sugi Ban, the technique that preserves wood by charring it with fire, Aralia plans for the trade show garden to offer a beautiful back drop of scorched oak, which allows the modern steam bent oak collections to stand out wonderfully. The trade stand has been designed to work almost if it were a Show Garden, with spatial arrangements that work on both practical and aesthetic levels. Aralia also looked to complement and enhance Gaze Burvill ’ethos and values’ with the introduction of Oak Saplings embedded into the Oak paneling walling, and to Centre piece a carcass of furniture to demonstrate the real craftsmanship of these collector’s pieces’. The oak saplings will later be planted down at the Gaze Burvill Global Head office.
