These works have been produced since the fifth or sixth century, when they were first created from handwritten treatises. These mystical and mysterious paintings represent the essence of life and spirit, and are often adorned with a beautiful floral pattern.

The earliest of these abstract Hindu paintings was created by a French poet, Franck Andre Jamme. He was a Buddhist who was a devotee of the tantrikas in Jaipur and subsequently inspired a vast number of contemporary artists. His paintings were originally figurative, but soon departed from the classical philosophies. The abstract style and cosmology of these paintings resonates with the modernist and Bauhaus movements.

A few of the more famous artists of Indian art have taken this concept a step further. Artists such as Manoj Kachangal have produced colourful, largely abstract, works inspired by the mythology of India. His work was created by hand on found paper and is used primarily for meditation. While depicting Hindu deities in geometric shapes, they are still highly reminiscent of Tantric art. Their pulsating, vibrant pieces are characterized by an earthy, vibrant palette.

Ram Kumar's Ruins (1972) is an example of this type of painting. The work is based on cave and rock art, which predates Hindu culture. A curator and art writer, Meera Menezes, explains that the pulsating paintings depict an energy-rich environment. She says that the painters are abstract expressions of traditional rituals and colour. This style is a great example of how to combine elements of tradition with modern art and create a new cosmology.

In addition to these artists, many artists have influenced the development of the abstract style in India. Among the most notable of these are the works of Ram Kumar, a noble soul with a simple-minded mind. His abstracts are full of tonalities, yet he interpreted these symbols in a way that is non-objective. His compositions are not merely a reflection of his personal life, but are a meditation of a higher power.

In addition to Ram Kumar, a number of artists who have a strong interest in the abstract style of art have also influenced the Indian art world. The artist OP Sharma, for example, made many paintings in which abstract forms of nature were the most prominent element. However, he is not the only artist who created these works. Some of these artists are the ones who created works that are not very recognizable as traditional paintings and they are not considered as art.
