Cadorin has created a new finish that recalls the texture of a Tatami, the Japanese mat traditionally used as a flooring material in Japanese-style rooms. Tatami are covered with woven rice straw and have a unique feel and look that Cadorin was inspired by in creating this new finish for its parquet planks.

The Tatami finish consists of a real three-dimensional working that creates a series of small tracks directly on the wooden surfaces of the planks. This textured pattern generates a unique feel to the touch and an extremely pleasant experience especially if walking barefoot.

Cadorin offers the Tatami finish for different woods, from Walnut to Teak, from Oak to Chestnut, from Cherry to African Wenge, bringing about very elegant visual and chromatic effects, subtle nuances and shades, and also more durability and resistance to foot traffic wear and tear.

1. Cadorin's Tatami: a new relief finish

Tatami is the new three-dimensional relief finish enriching the parquet planks surfaces with the an elegant texture, which changes constantly with light and generates a pleasant feeling to the touch and barefoot walking.

2. The Tatami finish works with different woods

The uniqueness of the Tatami finish works with different woods, such as Walnut as we can see in this picture. The textured pattern of reliefs creates a new grain on the surfaces of the walnut planks, creating a pictorial net of highly tactile nuances.

3. Decoration and high durability

The Tatami surface processing works with Oak wood as well, generating both an interesting decorative outcome and increasing the durability and density of the wood, which becomes in turn more resistant to the usual wear and tear caused by foot traffic.
