For today’s architectural gem we travel to The Capital where leading architectural firm 4D Studio takes us on a tour of one of their new-build projects. But first, a little bit more about the company in charge…

4D Studio is on a mission to deliver deluxe residential designs. Consisting of architects and interior designers, this London-based firm is 100% dedicated to top-quality results that speak of every client’s unique wants and needs. In addition to residential architecture and interior design, 4D Studio also includes new builds, renovations, extension, planning applications, and project management in its list of available services.

For today’s highlight, we sneak a peek at a Richmond-based design of 4D Studio named ‘Copthall Gardens’. It started out as a dilapidated old bungalow, yet ended up as something completely different…

The exteriors

Although we have no 'before' shot of this project's exteriors or interiors, our sources tell us that the end results are worlds away from what the structure used to look like. A decrepit little structure was completely torn down to its foundations and rebuilt to give it a clean and cutting-edge look (while still remaining most inviting and friendly) to ensure it’s perfect for 21st century living.

Today, thanks to a dedicated team of professionals, this bungalow sports a modern, almost beach house-like vibe on the exteriors thanks to its snow-white façade and touch of warm wooden finishing surrounding the glass doors at the back.

And don’t overlook the lush greenery perfectly framing that back garden entry.

The sunlit hallway

For top-notch first impressions, as far as interiors go, one has to really commit to a decently designed entryway. So far so good, judging by this open hallway in which we immediately find ourselves after walking through the wooden front door.

A healthy batch of sunshine dazzles the interior space upon entering, complementing the smooth and clean colour palette that greets us throughout the hallway.

And just notice how the timber furnishings and decorations add heaps of character and detail, especially the elongated and perfectly rustic hallway table which seems to literally grow out of the floor.

A bright and brilliant entertaining space

Thanks to the professional team in charge, this new dwelling sports high ceilings and generous amounts of natural lighting filtering in all day long thanks to the clerestory- and large windows.

Right out of the hallway flows the open-plan living area, sharing its layout with the dining zone (at the back). And just see how sparkling this living- and socialising space is thanks to the soft colour palette which seems to make everything from the floor to the ceiling simply dazzle!

The heart of this new home

But there's a third area which partakes in the aforementioned open-plan layout: the kitchen, flowing out of the living room. And thanks to a simple breakfast bar separating the cooking- and seating areas, that means the hardworking cook will have no trouble missing out on jovial conversation bubbling up from the living room's L-shape sofa or the dining table.

Wooden counter-tops in a warm brown beautifully mimic the wooden finishes we encountered in the hallway. For the rest of the cooking space, subtle white and a touch of shine (via the stainless steel elements) are perfect to style up this new home’s little cooking corner.
