The elegant home we will tour today is a union of simple architectural lines, and an unabated passion for nature. It is impossible to miss the frequent splurges of green, carefully but deliberately scattered both inside and outside the house. Modern homes in Mexico are experimenting with new designs and decor; but they are careful to incorporate warmth and comfort too.

Urban living is getting redefined as more and more architecture firms are playing around with new materials, textures and styles, to create something exclusive. AAE Studio, architects in Zapopan, Mexico, is one such firm who are keen on taking a new look at the simplest of building ideas. Now let’s explore this abode, N14, to get further inspired.

A lively facade

Some houses are designed to create impressions. This house is one of them. Charcoal grey and white are the dominant shades, which lend a simple but sophisticated appearance. A paved pathway leads to the garage, and a stairway flanked by a lush garden, takes us to the main door. The garden is not the only spot where you get to feast your eyes on plants. Nature has found it's place at different levels of the building itself. And tall trees coexist in peace along with modest bushes. The use of wooden and glass accents behind the garden, create a warm inviting look.

Elegant and homely living space

Not all houses have the luxury of combining different seating arrangements in one space. Plush sofas, comfortable armchairs, and a snug white ottoman offer the right setting for entertaining guests in this living area. A glass topped coffee table in the middle, is adorned with dainty potted plants. Stylish cushions and a beautiful soft rug enhance the cosy feel of this place. A large plant in the corner next to the smartly designed window, adds a natural feel to the ambiance. Flowers are arranged in the other corner, and black and white framed artworks infuse the atmosphere with a vintage charm.

The staircase to heaven

In between the living and the dining space, you will notice the most important feature of this luxury home. It looks like you have come upon an indoor courtyard, which is quite common in houses in Mexico. The rich dark wooden staircase features sheer glass balustrades, and receives ample sunlight to emphasize its openness. It is surrounded by pristine white pebbles which contrast against the wood. The tree next to the stairway, is reaching out to the upper storey, and is nothing short of the focal point of the house.

Dazzling kitchen

You will not mind sitting at the long kitchen island in the middle, sipping your first cup of morning coffee, because the stunning view of the greenery outside will rejuvenate your senses. The chandelier just above the kitchen island perfectly lights up the place. This is a modern kitchen fitted with all the essential gadgets and equipment, for a hassle-free cooking experience.

The perfect entertainment zone

With a bright fluorescent green armchair, a comfortable couch, and a couple of loungers, this room is an ideal den for watching movies or matches. Your friends will simply love the snug room with the big TV and the home theatre. To keep clutter at bay, the shelf is perched high above, where you can keep your collection of DVDs and books. The wall behind the couch has been devoted to wall arts. And to make the space cosier, a wicker basket full of colourful blankets and wraps has been placed just beside the sofa. If you are feeling a little chilly, just pick one of them to keep yourself toasty.

A bedroom made of dreams

Opulence is redefined in this bedroom, which has a large queen size bed on a wooden floor. Neutral colours have been used mostly. However, the bright lampshades and the eye-catching black and white geometrical creation above the head board, glam up the ambience. A large comfy armchair sits right next to the glass doors, and is the perfect spot for reading a book before going to sleep. And as you slide open the glass doors; you have an uninterrupted view of the surroundings, especially the lovely greens outside.

At the end of this tour, you undoubtedly realize that nature is an integral part of the entire house. It blends seamlessly with other materials and produces a calming effect for the eyes. For more ideas, feel free to go through this ideabook – A home engulfed in the beauty of nature.
