A lot of things can happen between the planning and construction phases of a house, and the results may not always be what you expect. That's why it's so special when you see architects who are able to execute their vision to perfection, and that's exactly what happened with the home we're going to look at today.

The architects made tiny models of the home to envision exactly what it would look like, and it appears everything went to plan, because the final result is spectacular. The home features an absolutely massive open plan living area, including a two-storey high living room, as well as a fantastic balcony on the front of the home. With a neutral colour palette defined by hardwood floors, and creative lighting that ensures the home is bright and welcoming, this is a really special space, so let's take a closer look at what these master architects have achieved!

The model

While 3D rendering offers some exciting possibilities for envisioning how a home will look, sometimes it's best to stick with the classics and construct a model that will really give you a feel for the final product.

With a unique pitch to the roof, plenty of windows, and an L-shaped structure that allows for a small garden or outdoor area, you can tell that this home is going to be spacious and filled with light.

The final product

And as you can see, everything has gone according to plan. There have been some small alterations, the pitch of the roof is slightly different, and the entry way has been rejigged to create a porch area, but otherwise this is a beautiful execution of the architect's vision.

The pink we saw in the model represented the gorgeous grey brick details that give this home an integrity and earthiness that contrasts the ultra modern interior.

The street view

The street view is completely private, with only a couple of windows strategically placed to allow natural light to filter in. The entire bottom floor has a brick exterior providing an interesting visual contrast, and clearly showing the added height added to the upper floor.

A closer look

If you enter from the back of the home huge full wall windows allow a view inside, where we can see the expansive living area and two storey living room. The area outside is still undeveloped, but would be perfect for a small garden, or simply a car port.

The kitchen

An island with the kitchen sink delineates this area, which features plenty of counter space along the back, and flat panel cabinets that provide plenty of storage, and a sleek modern appearance. The living area features a subdued, neutral colour palette, allowing the hardwood pattern on the floor to stand out, and add dynamism and movement..

The living area

As you first enter the house you find yourself in an area that will likely be used as a dining room, with those large windows blurring the interior and the exterior, and allowing plenty of light and air flow.

Around the corner we find the large two storey living area. The extra height gives the room a sense of grandeur, and increases air flow, while also opening the home up to the second floor, ensuring it is never claustrophobic or cramped.

In the other direction

When the sun goes down the room takes on a much cooler hue, but it still incredibly bright. This is due to creative lighting solutions, such as the recessed lighting that runs throughout the home. With so much space the possibilities for the living room are endless, and this home is just waiting for the owners to move in and add their own personality to the space.

Plenty of storage

The home features plenty of shelving units already built into the home. At the entrance we find box shelves, perfect for storing shoes, keeping the entrance way clear and tidy. The additional shelves limit the need for excessive furniture so that you can make the most of the huge floor area.

Heading upstairs

Beautiful timber stairs, matched by the top of the banister lead you winding around to reach the upper floors. We can see here there is two main stories, with additional attic space provided by the high ceiling.

The second floor

The timber of the stairs continues on to the second storey floors where we find yet more storage. We also find the entrance to the second floor balcony, a really nice touch that promises stunning views of the neighbourhood in the summertime.

What an amazing home, it's always exciting to be able to follow a house through every phase of the design, especially when the result looks like this! If you'd like to check out another fantastic family home, then this article is for you!
