Building with containers is a trend that just continues to grow and grow. And it's no wonder—these homes are amazingly economical and offer the same amenities as a conventional house. In addition, the accommodating modules can be tweaked and designed according to your needs and the local terrain.

Container homes can be large or small, one storey or more—the choice is yours, provided that the design complies with the building rules and regulations in your area! What's more, they can be used as an extension, office orhome. Everything depends on the creativity of you and your chosen architect!

Today we're showing you a super simple project. This container house has everything a modern homeowner could ever want… and it's trendsetting, too. Inspired? Scroll to the bottom—the building plans are right there…

Comfortable and casual

The integral furniture seems to be almost a part of the container. The house is long and narrow—on one side is the bathroom, on the other, the bedroom.

Wooden plates and palettes were used to cover the inside of the container, giving the home a truly unique look. The same material was also used to build the kitchen furniture. Want to look further inside? Step straight into the kitchen through the sliding glass door and check out the rest of the home…

A house with everything you need

We told you- this home has everything! A medium-sized container was used for the core of the house, which houses the small kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Outside, a terrace has been annexed to extend the space.

The house is located in a natural environment with a wonderful view—a dreamy escape from the relentless hustle of city life. Compact and low-impact, this is a home within reach for most of us.

Original details

Details abound on the outside terrace. A map of South America, designed with nails on one of the outer walls, catches the eye. But this isn't the only thing that stands out.

Crisscrossing palettes form a colourful pergola that casts interesting shadows on the terrace below, and the bright furniture is modern without being too clinical.

Kitchen, dining room and bedroom

In this tiny kitchen there is even room for a small wooden table. How amazing—the project also includes a small dining room space! The matte black paint that we saw on the outside of the container is also used inside, and it continues throughout the home.

The dark colour contrasts with the warm tones on the floor and ceiling. The bedroom is small but has everything you need; a small bed and some shelves.

Black, grey and yellow

The bathroom breaks the from the black that permeates the rest of the home and is decorated in yellow, with black and grey accents. Although it is small it looks pretty comfortable, and the fitted furniture is sleek and modern. To ventilate and illuminate the room, an elongated window provides light while still ensuring privacy. The mirror is an essential component of the room—it is not only practical, it also offers depth and bounces light around the limited space.

If you love this house as much as we do, you're probably thinking the same thing as us; I want it! That's why we've included the blueprints, so you can print them out and show them to your architect yourself. Thank us later…
