The kitchen is the heart of the home, which also makes it one of the most used rooms in the house. You spend a lot of time and money to create a beautiful and inviting space but with all the cooking and eating and entertaining, it can take a toll and leave your kitchen greasy and dirty.

But with a few easy tricks you can make your kitchen shine like new again without a lot of time or energy.

1. Too much grease? No problem! De-grease your kitchen with rubbing alcohol and paper towels.

2. Make your stove grates shine by adding a couple of tablespoons of ammonia to a bag and soak overnight.

3.Keep your sink looking and smelling fresh with an old toothbrush, lemon slices, and some baking soda.

4. Polish your stainless steel appliances with Pledge to make them extra shiny.

5. Vinegar, heat, and a bit of elbow grease is all it takes to keep your pots and pans squeaky clean.

6. Use WD-40 to wipe away scuff marks on all of your floors and cabinets.

7. The space between your oven window panes is a difficult spot to clean. Use a wire hanger, a cleaning wipe, and a rubber band to get hard to reach place.

8. Place a bit of vinegar and some lemon slices in the microwave and wipe down to get it looking fresh.

9. Get your entire home to smell like a bakery by placing a cup of coffee with a bit of vanilla extract in the oven at 150 degrees Celsius.

10. Soak your glass cooktop in some soapy water and baking soda with a hot rag on top for about thirty minutes to get rid of all those stubborn stains.

11. Keep your bin smelling fresh and clean by spraying it down with some vinegar, let it sit, and then rinse.

12. Use equal parts baking soda and vinegar with a few drops of dish soap and a bit of lemon juice to create the perfect oven cleaner paste. Cover your entire oven in the paste and let sit overnight and wipe down in the morning.

13. Funny smells coming from your front-loader? Clean your washing machine with some bleach, water, and a towel to get rid of built-up mold.

14. Keep your sponges fresh and virtually bacteria-free by placing them in a microwave on high for two minutes.

15. Get your porcelain sink back to new with a sponge, a soft cleanser, and some elbow grease.

16. De-grime your oven hood filters by putting them in boiling water with some baking soda.

17. Make your own degreaser for your wooden cabinets by mixing one part vegetable oil and two parts baking soda to create a paste. Use a toothbrush to scrub the grime away.

18. Get rid of scale build up on your faucet with vinegar in a bag and soaking for a few hours.

19. Keep your sinks unclogged by pouring half a cup of baking soda, a cup of vinegar, and finally, boiling water down the drain.

20. Keep your dishwasher clean as a whistle by placing one cup of vinegar on the bottom rack and half a cup of baking soda on the top rack. Run a regular cycle and then let it sit for twenty minutes to continue to steam clean.

21. Clean your kitchen tools and appliances with a homemade concoction of a quarter of a cup of baking soda and a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to form a paste. Use it to scrub away stubborn dirt and grease.
