The living room is a place where you come to relax. Today, we will show you a number of luxurious living rooms as well as how luxury can be expressed in different ways depending on materials, size, colors and use.

The possibilities that we show below are sure to be a source of inspiration when it comes to bringing a touch of luxury to your very own living room!

Grey luxury

The materials, the style, the color: everything in this room exudes pure luxury.

It starts with the big grey tiles on the floor, which give off a beautiful effect when the light falls on them. The grey color of the floor is extended to the walls, which we can see in the background.

The wooden stump, which serves as a side table against the wall, introduces some texture and tone to the space. The designers have also introduced wood in the form of the mirror frame. This is pure, natural luxury! The touches of wood also add warmth to the room, while the fireplace below the trendy and modern television cabinet adds that final coziness.

Peace, light and warmth in the living room

In this design, we can see how luxury can be in the form of a very simple and minimalist design.

The large luxury sofa will accommodate a family and is perfect for a cozy evening with friends.

The wall here also features a television as well as a long, trendy indoor fireplace. Don't you love how the television is encased in the wall? This keeps the lines taut and clean.

The neutral colors maintain peace and serenity throughout this space.

Open living room with luxurious touches

Here we see a large bright room, with a beautiful view. Designed by professionals Sax, the large windows provide plenty of natural light.

The wall is decorated with colorful artwork, adding live and personality to the home. This is a great way to show off your own style, especially against the backdrop of a very neutral living room.

The designers have also used a leather ottoman as a table in this space—a very clever design trick. The smaller elements here provide the living room with a very luxurious look and feel such as the leopard print armchair in the corner of the room. This works in beautiful contrast with the sleek, large and modern sofa.

Because the basic colors in this space are neutral, the colorful patterns here and there come together perfectly!

Industrial and colorful

The large steel windows in this living room give the space a very industrial look, while the design is sleek and modern. The living room gets its luxurious look thanks to the combination of industrial, modern and hip.

The colored cushions on the sofa give this space atmosphere, while working on contrast with the patterned rug on the floor. This rug also adds warmth to this space, both aesthetically and functionally.

The artwork serves to bring all of the colors together while the large windows allow for natural light to stream into this space so that it is not dominated by the dark colors used throughout.

The cabinets that we see in the background offer an artistic form of storage, keeping items neatly out of sight.

Have a look at these tips for getting the industrial look at home.

Luxury waterfront

This living room is located on a water villa. The split level division of the water house ensures that all rooms are optimally linked. This provides a wonderful open atmosphere.

Again we see the benefits of a beautiful rug on the floor and wall art. These are nice touches that add life to a living room.

This living room is very spacious, with the biggest sofa pushed against the far wall. The cream colors work in harmony with the wood used throughout the rest of the space.

The tall cupboards at the rear of the room offer plenty of storage space, keeping this space neat and tidy. Only what is meant to be seen is seen!

Pastel shades

A sweet addition to any living room is the use of soft pastels.

In this design, we can see how the high windows feature long drapes from ceiling to the floor, making the ceilings look even higher. The soft hues of the furniture and accessories keep this room spacious and light.

What is partially visible in the picture are the high cupboards, made from sturdy wooden planks and doors. This is a nice contrast to the soft colors in the rest of the living room.

Natural shades

It's always great to opt for natural colors and materials.

This is a very elegant living room with a neutral sofa. However the designers have added some warm colors in the form of the cushions. After a delicious dinner, you can relax in luxury here!

Don't you love how the fireplace also serves as a subtle partition between the living room and the dining room in this design?

Dark spheres

Dark colors in the living room can be extremely attractive, if combined well with bright accents and beautiful lighting.

In this design we can see how the dark cupboard provides storage, but also features back lit shelves where accessories can be placed. By using lighting strategically, the accessories are illuminated, doing this space even more justice.

The luxury chandelier on the ceiling is the cherry on top of this gorgeous design. The graceful shape looks like ivy making its way across the ceiling.

Sleek and rustic

This design is a perfect example of the beautiful combination between old and new.

The old wooden ceiling beams contrast beautifully with the stark white walls and ceiling. White is a very dominate color throughout this space. This ensures that certain elements stand out.

The old flea market style cabinet in dark wood is a beautiful and charming piece of furniture while the fireplace with the chimney extends all the way up into the ceiling.

The soft grey sofa jumps out. Can you see how all of the colors work in perfect harmony, exuding simplicity and style?

A stately living room

To be honest, this room could exude luxury even without furniture.

The original features contrast with the modern interiors beautifully.

The floor is decorated with a large rug, featuring a palette of shades. The different textures of the rug enhances the large leather sofa, which is finished in a creamy, chocolate brown.

The cabinet behind the sofa breaks up this large space very subtly.

The walls and doors feature all of the original beams, adding a bit of old-school luxury to the space. The real highlight, however, is the magnificent structure on the ceiling, which features recessed lighting. This is truly one of a kind!

A living room with a design like this calls for grand decor elements—and the designers have not disappointed here!

Luxury wooden facade

A few big elements that attract attention in the living room can create a much more luxurious look and feel than a collection of small accessories. Remember that less is more.

The elements in this room that draw the most attention are the structured wooden wall behind the television and the big, animal print rug on the floor. These are very characteristic and stylish.

Simple, clean furniture is therefore enough in this space.

The floating bar below the television is finished in the same timber as the wall, making a very subtle addition to this space where the television and a few decor items, such as the vase of flowers, can rest. This is a nice alternative if you don't want to install shelves.
